Certification Reimbursement

    CERTIFICATION EXAM REIMBURSEMENT AWARD

    To promote the growth of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) certifications (i.e. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, et al.), the Lima SHRM Chapter will reimburse examination costs to a limited number of new certification holders each year.

    Award reimbursement is solely at the discretion of the Chapter Board of Directors and is contingent on the funds available for this purpose. The goal is to disburse five awards per year—4 to working professionals and 1 to a student. Applicants may apply for one award per Chapter year.

    Reimbursement will be for the successful completion of exams only. Applicants will not be reimbursed for retest fees or exam preparation material.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must have been a member of the Lima SHRM Chapter, in good standing, for the entire certification pursuit period. This begins at acceptance to sit for the test, through taking and passing each exam, and finally receiving certification.

    Applicants must have achieved certification within the Chapter year for which they’re applying for reimbursement (January 1 through December 31).

    APPLICATION PROCESS

    Complete the application below. In addition to indicating the month and year you successfully completed each exam, please provide:

    • A letter from your employer stating that your employer will not reimburse the cost of certification.
    • A letter of certification from the testing organization verifying that you have successfully achieved certification.
    • A receipt of your payment for the certification exam.

    DEADLINES

    Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the Chapter year. Applicants will be notified of their award status within 30 days of submission.
