    Meeting of the Chapter Officers

    September 29, 2021

    Present: Kendra Nickel, President, Krista Richardson, Membership Director, Jeremy Monroe, Secretary/Treasurer, Amy Ricker, Past President, Cody Sanderson, Co-Programming Director, and Andrea Goings, Co-Programming Director.

    Absent: Jennifer Comes, Social Media/Website Chair

    Next meeting(s): Chapter Meeting – Employers’ Resource Association Presentation on Employee Culture – October 21st, 2021 - 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (via Zoom), October Board Meeting – 10/27 @ 8:30 a.m. via Zoom

    The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. 

    The agenda of the meeting is detailed below:

    1. Board meeting minutes from August 18, 2021 meeting were reviewed and approved.
    2. Chair reports were provided:
      1. Secretary/Treasurer - $10,974.47 currently in chapter bank account.  No remaining 2021 chapter dues outstanding.      
      2. Kendra and Jeremy to connect in separate meeting to link chapter bank account with newly created Venmo account.     
      3. Membership – 54 active chapter members.  20 new members added in 2021!
        1. Chapter audit to be reviewed by Kendra and Krista in a separate meeting. 
        2. Board approved chapter dues to remain at $60 for 2022 and plan to send 2022 payment notices starting November 2021.  Board also approved a $10 referral bonus for any chapter member referring a new member.  Bonus will be provided in the form of a Lima Chamber gift card.   
      4. Programming – Upcoming meetings scheduled:    
        1. October – Bob Bethel from Employers’ Resource Association had a conflict and can no longer present.  The President of that organization is available to present but will change the topic to Employee culture development instead of Labor Relations.    
        2. November – Legal Update (Mindi Wells).  Scheduled from 8am – Noon at Rhodes State.  Decision made to charge non-members $50 for this session.  Board agreed to pay speaker a $1,250 fee for this meeting.
        3. December – Social Event – tentatively planned for 12/9 at the Old Barn Restaurant and Grill from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.  
        4. General discussion over planning for 2022 chapter meeting presenters.
          1. Jan 2022 – Consider BWC speaker to address OSHA ETS employer requirements, possible vaccine mandate, etc.
          2. Feb 2022 - “The Colonel’s Daughter” to present “Before it comes to Blows” for HRCI and SHRM credits.
          3. March 2022 – Focus on recruiting topic with possible different speaker than offered in 2021. 
          4. Other possible topics for chapter meetings in 2022:  Conflict Management, Employee Retention, Emotional Intelligence, FMLA Basics, EAP/Mental Health, and Legislative leaders (Cupp/Huffman).    
      5. Social Media / Website –
        1. Kendra to meet separately with Jennifer on posting local HR positions on Lima SHRM website.
    3. President –
      1. Board agreed to hold online member vote via email on new bylaws, new logo and future Board nominations at the October chapter meeting since this meeting will be held via Zoom.    
      2. Venmo payment option should be added to chapter meeting registration pages going forward. 
      3. Information to be sent to membership prior to October meeting asking for any questions they may have or want addressed during chapter meeting. 
    4. Past President –
      1. Chapter Meeting Sponsorships – sponsor letter drafts were reviewed and approved for use.  Kendra to work with Amy separately on putting this information on the chapter website for prospective sponsors to access and review.
