    • Explain the reasons for the development of Emotional Intelligence (EI) as a field of research.
    • Understand the nature of EI in relation to a broad set of assessment instruments, especially IQ.
    • Describe the four core EI concepts and their components.
    • Explain some of the measurement challenges related to EI.
    • Discuss the uses and misuses of EI as an aspect of HR assessment and development
